HOW DO TAROT CARDS WORK? I haven't a clue. I started tarot as a fun passtime. I believed in psychic abilities, but not the divining arts. I invested in a deck and studied the technique. Surprisingly, my 'subjects' reported accurate reading! Word got out and soon I was doing private readings and parties. This feedback that convinced me that the readings 'work', but I cannot say why or how. It is a mystery of life. |

My Methods I don't do phone or internet readings. I believe the subject must select the cards. I use a double Celtic cross. In early readings, I strictly interpreted the throw, but with experience, I learned to use them as a guideline to help read the person. Still, the cards are often insistent on very specific meanings. |

Do All Readings Hit Home? NO. My early 'hit' ratio was 7 of 8 reporting accurate and 1 in 8 saying the readings didn't fit. With experience, my hit ratio improved. Still, some readings just don't hit. Maybe the subject is having an off day, or the reader isn't connecting, or the chemistry between them isn't right at that time. If this happens, I thank the person for their honesty, and offer to re-schedule another session to see if we can 'click' at another time. |

Respecting the Subjects' privacy.I do so many readings, it's impossible for me to remember an individuals name or face or the specifics of their readings. More than once, a former subject wanted to discuss their reading, only to get a slack-jawed blank stare from me as I try desperately to remember this person and where I met them. Occasionally, readings will stay with me, but not the person's name or other specifics. Be Aware! Cards show what they will. Thy often show me more than I feel I have a right to share with an 'audience'. I prefer to do readings in private settings. |

Karma and Other Considerations People often ask for help during crisis situations. That is good; all spiritual gifts should be shared freely. However, there is a danger of creating a dependency on the cards. This must never happen! The ultimate message of the Tarot is: YOU ARE MASTER OF YOUR DESTINY. YOU ALONE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND FINDING YOUR PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE. Readings only give insight into what can occur if you stay on your current path. Every individual has the ability to step out of their negative and destructive cycles as soon as they chose to do so. We are not therapists, medical professionals, financial advisors or marriage counselors. BUT, Tarot readings are great fun, And fun is very important!! |
