Historic, Haunted Mackinaw Island!
| If
you've ever had the pleasure of visiting Mackinaw Island, you'll recognize
some of these sites. One of the oldest settlements in North America,
Mackinaw was the site of the first battle of the war of 1812. It was
also the headquarters of the John Jacob Astor fur trading center.
Reports of activity abound for Mackinaw Island. Here is a hot tip. One of the summer workers says that room 211 of the Lilac Tree Hotel is extremely active. Guests will spend over $200/night, only to leave their expensive room in the middle of the night for less 'exciting' accommodations. I want to rent that room to see for myself, but
can't find any souls brave enough to accompany me! And I haven't
quite worked up the courage to go alone. |

| Don't look for images here. The 'bark chapel' is included because there was a rare EMF spike near this structure. Is Father Marquette still holding service here after all these years? | These robots perform a re-enactment of the war of 1812. There is a glass table separating the figures from the public. Are the two orbs reflections off the glass, or are they colonial era soldiers still reporting for duty? |
